About the Role
We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of our human resources operations across our HVAC organization. You'll lead recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning for both our office and field teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll directly impact our company culture, operational efficiency, and ability to attract and retain skilled technicians and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and hiring processes for both technical field positions and office roles, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Manage employee relations by handling performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including wage-and-hour regulations, safety requirements, and documentation standards specific to field-based operations
- Develop and execute workforce planning strategies to address staffing needs, turnover reduction, and skill development across technician and support teams
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including payroll coordination, benefits enrollment, and competitive market analysis for HVAC industry positions
- Build and maintain positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and retention strategies tailored to field and office staff
Requirements
- 7+ years of HR management experience, with at least 3 years in technical, field-based, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Demonstrated expertise in recruitment for skilled trades, technical positions, or field-based roles
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and ability to manage HR documentation and audits
- Experience with HRIS systems and HR analytics tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with frontline employees, management, and executives
- Nice to have: Experience in the HVAC, construction, or mechanical services industry
- Nice to have: Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) or active progress toward certification
