MEP Site Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on MEP Site Engineer to manage the installation and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on active construction sites. You'll work directly with trade contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure every MEP component is installed correctly, on schedule, and to specification. This role is critical to keeping projects on track and maintaining the quality standards our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate MEP installations on-site, ensuring work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards
• Conduct daily site inspections, document progress, and identify deviations or quality issues before they escalate
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors to resolve conflicts, coordinate schedules, and manage interdependencies between trades
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and material certifications; approve or request revisions to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Maintain detailed site records including daily logs, inspection reports, test certificates, and punch lists for project documentation
• Enforce safety protocols and site regulations; conduct toolbox talks and report safety incidents to project management

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an MEP Site Engineer or similar on-site supervisory role in construction
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, installation methods, and building codes (NFPA, IPC, NEC, or equivalent)
• Proficiency reading and interpreting MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Experience with construction management software and tools (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to coordinate effectively across multiple trades and stakeholders
• Nice to have: PMP, LEED accreditation, or experience with BIM coordination
• Nice to have: Familiarity with complex projects (healthcare, data centers, or high-rise buildings)
