About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand our shipping and freight forwarding operations across the Middle East region. You'll identify new market opportunities, build strategic partnerships with enterprise clients, and lead the commercial strategy for high-value logistics solutions. This is a hands-on role where your ability to close deals and cultivate long-term client relationships directly impacts our bottom line.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in shipping and freight forwarding, targeting enterprise clients and strategic accounts with a focus on contract value and long-term partnerships
- Develop and execute sales strategies for key service lines including LCL, FCL, air freight, and customs brokerage services across the UAE and GCC region
- Build and maintain relationships with major clients, freight forwarders, and logistics partners through regular site visits, negotiations, and strategic account management
- Prepare comprehensive commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals while ensuring profitability and alignment with company standards
- Collaborate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction for new accounts
- Track market trends, competitive activity, and pricing dynamics to inform strategy and maintain competitive positioning
Requirements
- 5-8 years of business development or sales experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry
- Proven track record of closing enterprise-level deals and generating revenue growth (ideally 20%+ annual growth in previous roles)
- Deep knowledge of shipping services (LCL, FCL, air freight, sea freight) and freight forwarding operations
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with C-level executives and procurement teams
- Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management; proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis
- Nice to have: Knowledge of customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance in the Middle East region
- Nice to have: Existing network of contacts within GCC logistics and shipping industry
