Technical MEP Engineer

About the Role

We're seeking a Technical MEP Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, supporting the Technical Manager in delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. You'll be the quality gatekeeper—reviewing MEP designs, monitoring construction compliance, and ensuring every system meets approved specifications and UAE authority standards. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise directly impacts project success and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design specifications and UAE building codes
• Conduct field inspections and quality audits of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and ELV systems during construction phases
• Process and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) and Technical Queries (TQs) from contractors, consultants, and authorities with technically sound solutions
• Verify load calculations, system designs, and installation procedures against approved drawings and relevant standards (ADCD, DM/DDA, DEWA/ADDC, Estidama)
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and Abu Dhabi authorities to resolve technical non-conformances and ensure timely project delivery
• Maintain detailed inspection records, defect logs, and compliance documentation for audit trails and project closeout

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in UAE technical review, QA/QC, or site engineering with a contractor, consultant, or developer
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing design, firefighting systems, electrical distribution, and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems
• Proven experience reviewing shop drawings, load calculations, material submittals, and inspection procedures
• Solid understanding of UAE authority requirements including ADCD, DM/DDA, Estidama, DEWA, and ADDC standards
• Valid UAE driving license and own vehicle (regular travel between Abu Dhabi sites required)
• Nice to have: Experience with BIM coordination, MEP design software (AutoCAD, Revit), or familiarity with major Abu Dhabi developers' project delivery processes
